We have back to back poor highs now in the last two RTH distributions. Market profile theory teaches us that the move would be that we would back off strongly first from these levels before moving higher. As of yet, last night’s overnight action has barely budged from the all-time highs. Nasdaq futures are currently trading up 9 points as well which is holding S&P’s firm.
2509.25 is the all time high from two sessions ago which was poor. That is the only upside reference. I believe the market can move higher if that level is tested since we already had a look above and fail and a failure yesterday to take it and overnight trade is still knocking on this door currently.
Overnight inventory is also 100% net short although there has been very mild penetration into yesterday’s RTH range as the ONL is only about 3 points from the ONH. It’s one of the tightest overnight ranges I’ve seen in awhile with all the action clustered around yesterday’s POC. Value in the day, value in the night….
Today is end of quarter which may add to volume.
