Dividend Income: February 2024…

What a bounce we have had these past four months.

If you have not seen your portfolio grow, you are either retired and focusing on income or you aren’t exposed enough to the US market. Even the S&P 500 index has kicked into high gear.

In my taxable account, I have added goeasy, and I did the same in the taxable account for my spouse and also added Constellation Software. CSU doesn’t filter my normal filters though and that’s why I missed it for so long and initiated a position.

Dividend Income

My February 2024 dividend income is $4,370.

My portfolio yield has dropped with some of my latest trades. I now have a 1.67% market yield. Remember, the yield on cost is completely useless. It says nothing about your portfolio.

This table is in my spreadsheet and using my historical growth, including the current year, I adjust the future year. It provides me with an idea of the dividend I can earn without changing the portfolio.

Considering my portfolio can double in 5 to 6 years, it makes a big difference to not switch solely to income investment just to see the dividend income larger.
